chapter1041
Lucinda figured Grace had a point, so she took a deep breath. "Alright. And make sure Frank keeps his head down at the Norwood place. I don't want him to mess anything up."
"I know. Don't worry, I'll talk to him."
"Okay."
Grace ended the call and let out a long, heavy sigh. Lately, life felt like a pressure cooker. Getting Lydia out of the picture couldn't wait any longer. But Night Eagle still hadn't made a move, and the waiting was driving her crazy.
Sometimes, when you mention someone, they just show up out of nowhere. As Grace was worrying about when Night Eagle would finally do something, her other phone rang. For a second, she thought she was imagining things. When she glanced at the screen and saw Night Eagle's name, her heart skipped a beat.
Trying to steady herself, she answered quickly. Yes, sir."
No matter how many times she talked to Night Eagle, she always felt a little
nervous.
Night Eagle's voice was low and direct. "Tell Lucinda to find a way to get Mr. Norwood out of the house as soon as possible."
Grace blinked, caught off guard. "Mr. Norwood? Not Lydia?"
What was the point of targeting the old man? He didn't care about the family
business anymore, and he was completely on Lydia's side. She still couldn't figure out how Lydia had managed to win him over so thoroughly.
"Just do it. You'll understand soon enough."
"Yes, sir."
After she hung up, Grace's heart was still pounding. Get Mr. Norwood out by himself? That shouldn't be too hard for Lucinda.
That night after class, Juna and Lydia headed to one of the most popular clubs in
the city. Lucinda was hosting a party for her classmates there.
"Life's so boring, you have to find your own fun, you know?" Juna said, waving at the watter and ordering a couple of handsome guys to come pour their drinks.
Lydia just stared, speechless, as Juna cozied up with a guy on each side. As the Davis family heiress, Juna could have any man she wanted.
Juna's attitude was straightforward. "Having a wife is great, but a mistress is better. And sneaking around? That's the best."
Lydia's blank expression made Juna roll her eyes. "Let's just have a couple drinks. Later, we'll go check out the party next door."
Right next door was Lucinda's huge VIP suite. She'd invited more than a dozen classmates tonight, all to show off her status as the richest girl in town. People were funny like that After getting humbled by Lydia Lucinda just wanted to feel
important again, to get her
confidence back by being the center of attention.
It was only with these people that she could truly soak up that feeling of being
adored, of being the beloved daughter of a billionaire.
Lucinda, this suite must cost at least a million for the night, right? And look at all this
food and champagne... You're amazing, Lucinda."
"We're so lucky to be friends with you, seriously."
Lucinda just smiled like it was no big deal. "Everyone, have fun! Order whatever you want, it's all on me."
"Oh my god, Lucinda! We love you!"
They were all having a great time
when suddenly the door flew open. Someone called out, "I heard the
richest girl town is hosting a party Is it true?"
Everyone turned around, ready to scold whoever barged in, but they froze. It was Juna... and Lydia.
Lucinda, who had been enjoying all the attention, jumped up from the sofa, terrified that Juna and Lydia would expose her in front of everyone.
Juna looked around the room and smirked. "Wow, Miss Norwood. This suite is even bigger and fancier than ours."
