Chapter 110

chapter110

Milana's knees buckled the moment she heard the news. If Jenson hadn't caught her, she would've hit the floor.

But... but if that's the case, isn't it like asking Sandy to give up both of her

kidneys?" Milana's voice trembled. She loved her son, but Sandy was her daughter too. The idea of risking her daughter's life to save her son's made her hesitate, even if just for a second.

Dean paused, thinking it over. "If... you can track down the legendary Miracle Hands, maybe... maybe there's a way to save both your kids."

Hope flickered in Milana and Jenson's eyes. They grabbed onto Dean, desperate. "Miracle Hands? Where is he? How do we find him?"

Dean just shook his head and let out a heavy sigh. "He's like a myth in the medical world. Hardly anyone's actually seen him. People have thrown fortunes at trying to get his help, but no one's ever found him. Finding him won't be easy. That's really all I know. I'm sorry, but there's nothing more I can do for Luke."

Dean left, getting into his car and driving away. Milana broke down, sobbing so hard it was hard to breathe.

"My poor boy... Why did he have to be so unlucky? Miracle Hands? I've never even heard of someone like that, let alone know how to find him. This is all Lydia's fault! If we could use her kidney two months ago, Luke wouldn't be in such a bad state now!"

"You only have yourselves to blame." Lydia's voice cut through Milana's wailing. "You spoiled Luke all his life, let him run wild, act out, never taught him any boundaries. I warned you he was reckless with those cars and that hanging out with those friends would get him in trouble. You never listened. Now something's happened and you're actually blaming me?"

Lydia honestly couldn't believe her adoptive parents. They'd turned their own son into a mess, and now, somehow, it was all her fault?

She wasn't taking the blame for this.

"You... Lydia! What are you even doing here? Milana's eyes shot daggers at her like she just wanted Lydia dead. How dare she say those stuff to her precious son?

Jenson looked just as surprised, his face darkening. "Lydia, we're losing our minds

over Luke's condition and you show up just to make things worse?"

Milana let out a cold sneer. "Now do you see what a thankless brat she is? The Smith family gave hera home

me for eighteen years, and this is what we get? She can't help at all, but she sure knows how to rub it in."

Grandma raised me for eighteen years. Not you, Lydia said, staring right back at them.

"You... you ungrateful girl! If you were really one of us my son would've had his surgery ages ago?

and he'd be fine. It's all because of you that he missed his chance!"

Even if Sandy and I hadn't been switched, are you that sure she'd just give up her kidney?" Lydia's words hung in the air.

Milana's face twisted with anger. "Lydia, I'm warning you. Do not say a word about Luke's surgery to Sandy. If you tell her, you'll regret it."

Mom, Dad, what are you guys talking about?"

Sandy and Soren walked in just then.

Milana's heart skipped. She quickly forced a smile as they came closer. "Nothing, Sandy. Just Lydia, coming here to make things harder for us."
