Chapter 1194

chapter1194

Lydia looked completely unfazed. "She's just Mr. Brown's daughter from Maple Town, right? So what? It's not like she's the only mayor's daughter around. What's there to brag about?"

Mrs. Brown's eyes went wide. She clearly wasn't used to anyone standing up to her. Mona just stared, not believing what she was hearing. Lydia's comebacks were even harsher than Juna's had been earlier.

"Well, aren't you a sassy little thing. Who are your parents, anyway?"

Lydia arched a brow. "Why should I tell you? If you're that curious, go find out yourself."

Mona was fuming. "Mikey is my boyfriend. Stay away from him."

Lydia just smirked. Did he ever actually say you were his girlfriend?"

Mona was about to cry again. She clung to Mrs. Brown's arm. "Mom, do something. Don't just let her talk to me like that."

Instead, Mrs. Brown turned toward Mikey. "Mikey, not only do you refuse to take care of my daughter, but you're just going to stand there and let them bully her?"

She sounded every bit like a future mother-in-law, already plotting the wedding in her head.

Mikey sighed. "Mrs. Brown, I've already explained. It was all a misunderstanding."

Mrs. Brown shook her head. "I don't care what you call it. The fact is, you saw my daughter's body. She's our only daughter. Are you saying she's not good enough for you?"

Juna let out a loud scoff. "She threw herself at him and now you want to make it sound like she's the victim. Like mother, like daughter, I guess."

Now it wasn't just Mona who looked like she might faint. Mrs. Brown's face turned almost purple.

"And you, who are you supposed to be?"

Juna tilted her chin. "Juna Davis. Remember the name."

Mrs. Brown paused, thinking, then her face twisted into a sneer. "Oh, just a merchant's daughter. And you dare talk to us like that?

Juna didn't back down. "What's wrong with being from a merchant family? At least

we have some class. Can't say the same for you. You give Mr. Brown a bad name."

"You..."

"You what? Isn't your daughter always showing off in a bikini at the beach? Now she wants to pretend she's all innocent? If she wants to be with Mikey, just say so. Stop going behind everyones back and play these games."

Mona finally burst into tears for real this time.

Mrs. Brown could only nod, shaking

with anger. "Fine. Fine. So you'rene

with the Day's family, huh? Ju wait. And Mikey, this isn't over!"

Her face was still blotchy with rage as she dragged a sobbing Mona away.

Mikey could only watch, completely stunned. He never expected Lydia and Juna to chase them off so easily.

He let out a long breath. "Honestly, if it weren't for you two, I'd have no idea how to deal with them."

Mikey was always polite, not used to dealing with this kind of drama. He'd never met anyone as intense as Mona before.

Juna snorted. "She totally thinks she's got you wrapped around her finger."

Then she leaned in, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, did you really see everything that day?"

Mikey's whole face went red. He coughed, flustered. "Not really. Just her back. She said she'd just gotten out of the shower but... it's not what but it sounded like.

The whole thing was a mess, and he knew there was no way to explain it without looking guilty.

Suddenly, Mikey glanced at Lydia. "About what you said earlier..."

Lydia cut him off. "We'll talk about it later, when we're home."

This was not the place to get into it.

Mikey nodded. "Alright."

When Juna and Lydia came back from the restroom and rejoined the party, the main

event was already in full swing.
