chapter1222
Mikey nodded. "Of course."
That simple answer made Mrs. Brown even happier. After dinner, she grabbed Mona's hand, her eyes sparkling with mischief. She leaned in and whispered, "When you walk Mikey to his room, remember to make the most of your chance."
Mona dropped her gaze, her long lashes hiding the swirl of emotion in her eyes. She just gave a soft "hmm" in reply.
Mikey followed Mona up the stairs, the hallway lights behind them stretching their shadows along the wall. When they reached the guest room door, Mona nervously twisted the hem of her dress. Mikey, do you really want to..."
Before she could finish, Mikey pulled her right into the room.
Downstairs, Reed watched Mrs. Brown's beaming face and couldn't help but speak up. Deanna, you do so much for this family, taking care of everything and even worrying about Mona's future. I'm always caught up in work. I haven't really been a good husband or dad."
Mrs. Brown was caught off guard by his sudden sincerity. She paused, then smiled. "You're busy with work every day. It's only right that I help out at home."
Reed stepped closer, took her hand, and looked at her, his voice warm and meaningful. "Thank you, Deanna. It's late. Let's get some rest."
His intentions couldn't have been more obvious. Mrs. Brown knew exactly what he was hinting at. But honestly, younger guys were more her type. Reed looked decent enough, and he'd kept himself in shape, but she just didn't feel that spark. She didn't like him that way.
She looked up at Reed and forced a smile. "You've had a long day, you must be exhausted. Why don't you call it a night? I don't know what's up with me lately, but I've been feeling so tired and run down. Maybe I should get checked out at the hospital tomorrow."
Reed's face filled with concern. "You've been saying you don't feel well for a while, but the doctors never find anything. You're probably just worn out from taking care of the house. I already asked the kitchen to make you some ginseng soup. I'm going to the study to finish some paperwork."
The second Mrs. Brown heard he was heading to the study, she let out a quiet sigh of relief. She didn't even wonder why he suddenly ordered soup for her. "Alright, don't overdo it."
Reed went upstairs. Once he was out of sight, Mrs. Brown flopped down on the sofa and muttered, "Old per After a moment, she started wondering how things were gong upstairs with Mona and Mikey.
A little while later, she tiptoed up the stairs and crept toward the guest room. Before she even reached the door she could hear the sounds coming from inside. There was Mona's voice, soft and breathless.
"Mikey... oh, be gentle, don't bite me."
"Mikey, I... I really like you."
"Slow down, you're hurting me..."
Mrs. Brown's eyes went wide with excitement, She leaned closer and could hear the bed creaking. She had to cover her mouth to keep from laughing out loud. She'd used. strong dose. There was no way Mikey could resist. Now that
everything was taken care of, even if the Jefferson family had doubts, Mona was definitely getting married
Mikey.
It wasn't until Mrs. Brown went back to her own room, completely satisfied, that
things finally quieted down in the guest room.
Inside, Mona jumped out of bed, her face burning with embarrassment. Mikey looked just as awkward, getting up to fix his messy clothes. In the chair by the bed, a figure was sitting there.
It was Lydia.
Right then, Lydia was watching her phone, which showed the security feed from the villa. Only when she saw Mrs. Brown return to her own room did she finally put the phone down.
