chapter1271
Erik dropped to his knees in front of Krista, clutching the fabric of her dress like his life depended on it. His eyes were full of regret. "Krista, it's all my fault. Please, don't divorce me. If you forgive me, I'll have all of their stuff thrown out right now."
He whipped around and snapped at the housekeeper, who was standing there in shock. Why are you just standing there? Get them out of here, right now!"
Gianna screamed, her voice shrill and desperate. Erik, what are you talking about?"
Marilyn was just as furious. Dad, are you seriously kicking Mom and me out for her?"
Victoria nearly lost her balance and had to grab the sofa to steady herself, her face stunned. What on earth was wrong with her son? Why was he kneeling to Krista, of all people? If anyone should be kneeling, it should be Krista, not Erik.
Krista looked down at the man who used to act like he was untouchable. Now he was on the floor, begging. The anger in her chest burned just as strongly as ever.
"Erik, do you really think a few tears are going to fix what you've done?" She shook off his hands, her voice icy. "The prenup is clear. If you cheat, you leave with nothing."
Erik's face was serious as he looked up at her. "Krista, I don't know what I was thinking. Please, for the sake of all the years we've been together, forgive me this once. I'll do anything. I just don't want a divorce."
Krista's tone softened a little as she met his eyes. "Anything I want?"
"Yes," Erik said quickly.
A cold smile played on Krista's lips. "Alright, then start by getting them out of my house. I don't want to see them ever again."
Gianna's face twisted in rage as she screamed, "Krista, you came back from the dead but it doesn't mean you get to run the show! Even if you kick us out, you'll never be in charge of the Bland family!"
Krista didn't even look at her. She just glanced over at the bodyguards by the door. They moved in right away, dragging Gianna and Marilyn out as they kicked and screamed. Their angry voices faded down the hallway, leaving behind an awkward silence.
Victoria was still in shock, staring at Erik like she didn't even recognize him. She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Krista watched everything unfold, her heart full of bitter satisfaction She'd always known Erik would never give up the Rock family's money and status so easily That was all he ever wanted.
"Erik, do you really think staying married means you get to keep living your perfect little life?" Krista's voice was sharp and cold. "I know exactly what you've done. Every dirty secret."
She turned and walked out of the living room, leaving Erik and Victoria standing there in stunned silence.
At the Norwood estate, it was already seven in the evening. Juna was having dinner
with Lydia when her phone buzzed with a message from Krista.
Krista: [Miss Davis, everything's ready. Are we doing this tonight?]
Juna smiled. She's faster than I thought."
Lydia nodded. "If someone's survived the worst that life can throw at them, they're
not going to waste time when it comes to getting things done."
"So, we go tonight?" Juna asked.
Lydia nodded again. "We do."
Juna sent Krista a quick reply. [Okay.]
As night fell, the villa at the Bland estate grew quiet. Krista slipped out of her to meet Juna and Carter oja was there t but she and Connor were waiting in the car. With her eyesight gone, it didn't really matter if she went inside or not.
Juna kept her voice low as she asked, "Is he out?"
