chapter154
Jenson's mood did a complete one-eighty. "What's going on?"
"I'm not sure, Mr. Smith. In just the last two days, we've lost more than ten business partners. They don't want to work with us anymore, and they've pulled their investments too. Mr. Smith, what should we do?"
Half of their most important partners and investors were gone in only two days.
"More than ten? How is that even possible?" Jenson was freaking out.
"I tried calling you, Mr. Smith. But you told me those accounts didn't matter and not to interrupt you."
The memory hit Jenson all at once. He'd been so wrapped up with his son's illness that he'd barely paid attention to the company. LYLX was their number one priority, so that was the only account he kept an eye on. He hadn't realized so many other companies had already cut them off.
Why was this happening?
"Mr. Smith, we're bleeding clients and investors. If we don't figure this out soon, the company's finances are going to collapse."
I know that! I'll go to the office tomorrow. No, actually, I'll go straight to LYLX headquarters and get some answers myself."
He could live with losing a few partners, but not LYLX. That company was a global powerhouse. If Smith Corporation lost their support, he didn't even want to imagine what would come next.
"LYLX doesn't want to work with us anymore?"
Milana had been listening in, and she looked like she'd just been handed a death sentence.
LYLX was a big deal-loved by international celebs and high society. Smith Corporation's long-term partnership with them was what made the company look so elite, drawing in more and more luxury brands.
If LYLX decided to end things, it would be a disaster for Smith Corporation.
They were really just a materials supplier, selling fabrics, leather, and trimmings to fashion brands. They'd started their own clothing line to branch out, but it never really took off.
For years, Jenson had managed to stay on top of Lakeview Town's rich list, all thanks to LYLX's support.
A lot of their current partnerships only happened because those other brands trusted LYLX's judgment. If LYLX left, all those other companies would probably leave too...
Jenson was almost scared to think about it.
"Dad, is it really that bad?" Sandy spoke up.
When she came home and found out Smith Corporation worked with LYLX, she was so proud. Even her friends were jealous, always asking if she could hook them up with discounts. But LYX never did sales, except for VIPs so it wasn't like she f could help.
"It's pretty bad. I'm going to LYLX tomorrow to talk to someone in charge. Sandy, for now, just focuse on getting better. Let your face heal." He realized he'd been too harsh earlier. His daughter had gotten hurt because of them. He couldn't bring up anything else, not today.
Lydia drove Connor to the Capital, making the trip in just an hour and a half.
She was so fast that Connor was
actually impressed. She really was a bike queen. If there weren't speed
limits he guessed she could have made it in an hour flat. No wonder Aiden never managed to catch up.
Give me your address. I'll drop you off first, Lydia said, glancing over at him. She still had a ton of things to deal with after that.
Connor raised an eyebrow. "All those people are at the police station now, and the cops are arresting the Parkers. You're really not going to bring me to watch the drama?"
