Chapter 211

chapter211

Lydia pulled a notebook and pen out of her bag and started writing out the

prescription. Her handwriting flowed across the page, elegant and confident. It was the kind of script that made you stop and stare.

Mr. Jefferson couldn't hide his admiration. Lydia, your handwriting is incredible.

He genuinely hadn't expected someone her age to write with so much style and presence. It was honestly impressive.

Connor and Chris both leaned in, eyes wide with surprise. Chris couldn't help but think that Lydia's handwriting was at least ten times better than his. Maybe even a hundred times.

Lydia handed the prescription to the butler. "Please follow the instructions and make the medicine. Once in the morning, once at night."

The butler nodded right away. "Of course."

She reached into her bag again and took out a small bottle, passing it to Mr. Jefferson. "This is for your heart. Just take one pill every night."

This wasn't something you could buy in any store. Lydia had made it herself, and it was worth a lot more than it looked.

She'd also set aside a bottle for Mr. Norwood, but he'd have to wait until he was out of the hospital and fully recovered before using it.

Mr. Jefferson's face lit up. "Thank you. That's so thoughtful of you."

He took the bottle, feeling the cool porcelain in his hand. "Lydia, this must be expensive, isn't it? Tell me how much it costs, I'll send you the money."

Lydia laughed. "It's really not expensive. Just take it as a gift."

He hesitated. But, are you sure that's okay?"

She smiled. "You gave me such a generous gift when we first met. This is just a little something in return."

Mr. Jefferson was honestly touched. She was so mature, so considerate, and so grateful. He couldn't help but think that their family was truly blessed to have her as a future granddaughter-in-law.

Lydia, will you stay for dinner tonight? Tell me what you like and I'll have the kitchen make it for you."

She shook her head gently. "Thank you, Grandpa Samuel, but I can't tonight. I have a surgery at the hospital at six. I'll come visit you another day."

He beamed at her. Lydia, you're amazing. Doing surgeries at your age? That's really something."

While Mr. Jefferson chatted with

Lydia, Connor quietly picked up a tray from the table and brought it over to her with a soft, almost careful tone Would you like something to drink?"

Lydia glanced down. The tray was loaded with options-milkshakes, fruit tea, juice, green tea, soda. She smiled and grabbed a cup of fruit tea. "Thanks."

Mr. Jefferson was quick to pull over a plate of snacks and pastries. Lydia, you have to try these. They're delicious."

She picked up a piece of green bean cake and thanked him warmly. "Thank you, Grandpa Samuel."

The staff couldn't believe what they

were seeing. Their usually

fiery-tempered boss was being so

Lydia He

patient and gentle with Ly

was like a completely different person. And Connor, who was

always so cold he could practically

freeze the room, was acting so

gentle it was almost hard to believe.

"Lydia, can I have your phone number? That way, if I miss you, Ican send you a

text," Mr. Jefferson asked, his tone almost hopeful.

He always wanted her contact info, but never managed to ask. Now felt like the perfect moment. He wasn't going to let it slip by.

Chris's eyes immediately brightened.

Lydia nodded and pulled out her phone. Sure, here is my number.

Mr. Jefferson looked delighted. "Perfect, perfect."

They finished adding each other, and as Lydia was about to put her phone away, Chris quickly held out his

phone grinning Can I get it too? make it easier to talk."

Lydia paused, but before she could say anything, Connor reached over and pulled

Chris away with one hand.

Not happening, Connor said, fixing him with a look.

Chris yelped, "Why?"

Connor just replied, firm and final, Just no.
