Chapter 315

chapter315

Lucinda's face went blank for a moment, but she quickly pulled herself together.

"I know, Grandpa. Lydia is amazing. There's still so much I can learn from her."

She shot a look at Garrett. "Garrett, why don't you read out a few more of the nice things people are saying about her? That'll make Grandpa even happier."

Garrett nodded. "Sure, let me check for some more."

He scrolled through the comments, but suddenly stopped when a new topic caught his eye. It read, "Lydia, the Perfect Scorer, Cheated on Her Exam." His expression changed in an instant. The usual warmth in his eyes was gone, replaced by a cold, angry glare.

Lydia was a genius. She was only eighteen and already held the highest credentials in medicine. How could anyone accuse her of cheating?

Without thinking, Garrett clicked on the post. The article was full of details, insisting that at Lakeview Town High, Lydia had always been in the worst class, skipped school all the time, got into fights, and never respected her teachers. According to the post, there was no way someone like that could score perfectly on her exams.

He forced himself to read the whole thing, jaw tight with anger, then scrolled to the comments.

The replies were a tidal wave of nastiness.

[I can't believe this. I thought she was a once-in-a-generation genius, but she just copied? I'm so disappointed.]

[This is disgusting. People like her should be punished. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior.]

[How does someone dare to cheat like that? It's a slap in the face to everyone who works hard. She needs to be made an example of.]

[I'm in her class, and when the results came out, even our teachers were shocked She's the worst student in the worst class How could she possibly get a perfect score? She brought this on herself.]

[Unbelievable. Does she really think cheating is the way to get ahead? What kind of parents let their kid turn out like this? Cheating just ruins your life forever.]

Lucinda noticed Garrett's face and a hint of satisfaction sparkled in her eyes. The news about Lydia must have spread. Otherwise, Garrett wouldn't be looking so upset.

She put on her most innocent voice. Garrett, what are you so caught up in? We're

all waiting to hear more of those nice comments."

Cameron and Kylie picked up on Garrett's mood too.

"Garrett, is something wrong?" Kylie asked, leaning over to see his phone.

The second she saw what was on

the screen, her calm and gentle face turned sharp with anger. "This is ridiculous. They're just jealous of

Lydia and making up stories to tear her down."

Cameron stepped closer, frowning. As soon as he read the comments, his temper flared.

"This is outrageous. How dare they slander my daughter?"

Lucinda hurried over, putting on a worried face. "Dad, Mom, Garrett, what's happening?"

She craned her neck to see the screen and let out a dramatic gasp. "Wait, they're saying my sister cheated? That can't be true... right?"

Garrett shot her a hard look, his voice steady and sure. "Of course it's not true. Someone is spreading lies on purpose."

Lucinda glanced at her furious parents, looking anxious. "Dad, Mom, we should get someone to take these posts down, or it'll ruin her reputation."
