chapter360
Damien only realized he might have messed up when he saw how angry Connor
was.
"Lydia, they said they were from Lydora. They came to buy Vision Rejuvenation Grass. I told them we didn't have it, but they tried to force their way in, so..."
Connor just stared at him, stunned.
Lydora?
He wasn't sure if Lydia was in that helicopter, but he'd tracked them all the way here. Without hesitating, he walked straight toward the helicopter, which was now full of bullet holes.
Damien called out without thinking, "It's dangerous!"
There was a seriously skilled shooter in there, someone who had managed to wound him even with bullets flying everywhere. Damien didn't realize that if Connor hadn't spoken up at just the right moment, he would already be lying there dead.
"Lydia?"
Connor didn't even blink at the guns pointed his way by Potato and the others. He stood tall in front of the battered chopper.
Potato and his crew were lost.
What was going on? Why was this cool, handsome guy calling their Lydia?
"Lydia?"
Lydia knew she couldn't keep hiding. She stepped into view, calm and collected. As soon as Connor saw her, he was shocked all over again. He'd suspected she might be here, but seeing her in person was something else.
Lydia... and Lydora? They were connected?
"You're the owner of Mount Gemspire?"
When Lydia had heard Connor's voice earlier, she'd already guessed that the mysterious person who bought Mount Gemspire three years ago must have been him.
Damien was floored. So... their Lydia knew this girl? He'd nearly hurt one of their own?
Connor took another step forward, the energy around him impossible to ignore.
Potato panicked. "Lydia! Lydia, he's coming over, Lydia!"
Lydia just rolled her eyes and said, "He's with us."
Potato blinked. What?
Connor finally came up to her, his face serious, and pulled her straight into his arms.
Potato and his team were completely stunned.
Damien's group wasn't doing much better.
Everyone was thrown off by their leaders' sudden move. What on earth was happening?
Do you have any idea how dangerous this place is?" Connor sounded frustrated, but at the same time, he was clearly relieved.
She'd come all this way for Vision Rejuvenation Grass, braving a mountain for his sake. It hit him right in the heart.
Lydia just lifted an eyebrow. "It wasn't that bad."
To her, this was nothing.
"You came all this way for Vision Rejuvenation Grass. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want you to worry. I was just
going to grab the herb and head back" She honestly never expected Connor to be the owner if shed known, she wouldn't have tried to force her way in like this.
"Lydia, you're so good to me. How am I supposed to repay you?
Connor's feelings were all over the place. How could he not fall for her, after everything she'd done?
But Lydia, in her usual style, just killed the mood. "I took your order. It's my job to see it through, right?"
Connor looked like someone had just thrown cold water on him, but he didn't let it get to him for long. * don't care. I'm just going to believe you did all this because you love me"
Lydia didn't even argue.
Potato, Sweet Potato, and the rest just watched the two of them flirting in front of
everyone, eyes wide. Was this real?
Were they hearing things? Seeing things? Was this a dream? Was Lydia really in a relationship?
If Lydia's team was shocked,
Damien's group was even more
blown away. Connor was famous for
being cold and impossible to get
close to, especially when it came to women. Ruthless and untouchable that was his reputation.
And now, right in front of them, he was acting like this with Lydia. It was almost unbelievable.
