Chapter 438

chapter438

Aiden's heart was pounding. He still hadn't gotten over what happened to Theodore and had zero desire to go through anything like that himself. Connor didn't usually get involved, but tonight, Theodore had basically asked for it when he tried to get Lydia to be his girlfriend. The guy was lucky he got off with just a scare.

Lydia noticed how shaken Aiden was and couldn't help but laugh. Relax, I'm joking."

Aiden just stared at her, mentally begging her to go easy on him.

Connor jumped in, trying to change the subject. "So, should we keep going to the lavender farm?"

The mood had definitely taken a hit, but he wasn't ready to give up on the surprise he had planned for Lydia.

She was about to agree when her phone suddenly rang in her pocket, cutting her off. She checked the screen. Chris was calling.

Connor groaned to himself. Sometimes he honestly wished he could send his little brother off to another planet. Did Chris have to ruin every good moment?

Lydia picked up. Chris' cheerful voice came through right away. Hey, are you busy? We're in the middle of training."

"Which track?" Lydia asked.

"Rush Bay," Chris replied.

Lydia's eyebrows shot up. "No way. We're actually close by."

"For real? Can you come over?" Chris sounded instantly excited. Their race was tomorrow, so tonight's practice was kind of a big deal.

"Sure, I'll come."

"Awesome! We'll wait for you."

"Got it."

Lydia ended the call and turned to Connor. "Looks like the lavender farm will have to wait."

Chris' race wasn't something she could just brush off. She wanted to see how the team was doing.

Connor just nodded. Next time, then." Chris was his brother, after all. What could he do?

Rush Bay really lived up to its name. The whole track twisted and turned for miles, packed with sharp corners that looked downright deadly. Only serious racers would even consider drivin

here. Once you entered Rush

Bay, you were on your own. If

anything happened, you had to deal

with it.

It wasn't a place for amateurs. Only pros with real skills showed up here. If you saw someone at Rush Bay, you could bet they weren't just pretending.

When Lydia and Connor got to the entrance, they were stopped right away. Even calling Chris didn't help. He wasn't picking up.

"No entry without a professional racing license," the young guy on duty, Lucas, told them.

A racing license wasn't just a piece of paper. It was proof that you belonged on the track. There were six levels, from G up to S. Each level matched different races and requirements. If you wanted to do was the m nimum. Getting a B license meant you'd held a C license for at least two years, and in those two years, you'd have to finish in the top five five times at national or international events, or win a national

international races, Clevelan

championship in the last year. Only with a B license could you go for the biggest international competitions.

Most of Chris' teammates were at B level, which Lydia thought was impressive. Chris himself was already at A level, with an international championship to his name. That's why he was so set on finding NO1, the racer who'd reached the top S license ages ago.

Globally, barely anyone had ever reached S level. NO1 was one of those rare few, and the only S class super racer in the whole country. International judges even said that, out of all the S level racers, N01 was in a league of his own way ahead of the rest. That's why everyone in the racing world called this person

'Super NO1' an absolute legend no one could touch.
