Chapter 447

chapter447

How could his wild, messy races ever hold a candle to something as elegant as the piano?

The whole group made their way upstairs. Through the huge, sparkling floor-to- ceiling windows, Paris unfolded outside. The city glowed, lights scattered everywhere like a sky full of stars. It was impossible not to get lost in it for a moment.

As everyone started to sit down, Cameron and Kylie took the main seats at the table. Blake slid in next to Cameron. Lucinda wasted no time grabbing the spot beside Kylie, tossing a smug look in Lydia's direction.

Lydia rolled her eyes and ignored her. Connor walked over to Blake's side, pulled out the chair next to him, and motioned for Lydia to sit. That meant Chris ended up stuck between Lucinda and Lydia.

Lucinda looked absolutely fed up. She couldn't stand Chris, not even a little. If Mikey had shown up tonight, maybe she'd have been interested. She shot a bitter look at Connor. If it weren't for Lydia, Connor would be hers. She wouldn't have to settle for second best.

Lydia, your dad and I never would've guessed you were the founder of LYLX. How did you get so amazing?" Kylie asked, sounding genuinely impressed.

"Seriously, sweetheart. You're still so young, but you're already so accomplished. Lydia, it must've been tough, right?" Even Cameron, tough as he was, looked at Lydia with real respect. He could only imagine what it took to get where she was. Lydia thought about how hard things had been when she was a kid. It was a bitterness she could still taste, but she just smiled lightly. "It wasn't so bad."

Under the table, Connor gently took her hand. He looked up at Cameron and Kylie, and promised, Mr. Norwood, Mrs. Norwood, don't worry. I'll take care of her from now on. She won't have to suffer anymore."

Cameron and Kylie both looked so relieved, like a weight had been lifted.

"Thank you, Connor. We believe you," Cameron said sincerely.

Across the table, Lucinda's hand tightened around her water glass until her knuckles turned pale. Seriously? They were really showing off right in front of her, acting like she didn't exist. If she'd known it would be like this she would have just stayed at the hotel. Now she was just sitting here, making herself miserable.

She was so angry she had nowhere to put it, so she grabbed her phone and quickly sent a message to Grace.

[I'm honestly going to explode. That bitch Lydia and Connor are flaunting their relationship in front of everyone. Do they even care how I feel?]

Did they think after all these years, she didn't care about Connor at all? Did they have to hurt her like this?

Grace had just gotten off her flight when Lucinda's message popped up, and her expression immediately turned cold Lydia again. She was like a ghost that wouldn't go away.

[Lucinda, don't let them get to you They're not worth it. We're in France now. There are way fewer rules here. I can find someone to teach by dia a lesson.]

Grace had never liked Lydia. If she could, she'd make Lydia disappear for good.

Lucinda saw Grace's reply and quickly shielded her phone, scooting a little further from Kylie to make it look like she was just playing a game.

[Are you sure we won't get caught? Mom, Dad, Blake, and Connor are all here.]

Honestly, if she could, Lucinda would've already found someone to deal with Lydia. Lately, she felt like Lydia was literally driving her crazy.

Grace sent another message, her tone darkly amused.

[Trust me. I'll take care of it right now. No one will ever know.]
