chapter673
"This one's better," Lydia said, her voice calm and genuine as she handed the bottle over. She honestly wanted them to have it. If they'd acted like Daisy, she wouldn't have bothered sharing at all.
Monica's eyes lit up as she took the bottle. "Thank you, Lydia! Do you always wear sunscreen?"
Lydia nodded. "Yeah, every day."
Monica let out a sigh, full of admiration. No wonder your skin actually glows. It's gorgeous."
Fiona was already unscrewing her bottle, grinning. "Seriously, Lydia, what skincare do you use? You have to recommend something. Your skin is so smooth, it's like a pearl."
Lydia just smiled. "I'll send you the links later, promise."
Over on her bed, Daisy watched Monica and Fiona with their little white bottles and rolled her eyes. No brand name, nothing special. And they still wanted to use it? If their faces broke out, they'd have no one but themselves to blame. She wasn't about to say anything. Sometimes being nice just gets you nowhere.
Lydia went to take a quick shower, pulled on her pajamas, and climbed into bed for a nap. She was just getting comfortable when she remembered she hadn't checked the school forum yet.
Logging in, the first thing she saw was the campus queen poll.
First place: Lydia, 15,688 votes.
Second place: Yara, 9,556 votes.
Third place: Rosie, 7,654 votes.
Fourth place: Daisy, 6,589 votes.
So that's why Daisy had been acting weird. In just three hours, Lydia had racked up all those votes, and they were all real students, not fake. accounts or anything. The reason was obvious-the photo on the forum was just too stunning.
It was taken on campus, a sunny day with light streaming through the leaves and scattering little spots of gold along the path. Lydia was walking under the trees, long dark hair flowing down her shoulders, a few loose strands swaying in the breeze, She'd turned back over her Shoulder and her eyes, bright and clear, looked like they could hold sunlight. Her lashes cast soft shadows on her cheeks, and the corners of her lips lifted in a quiet, almost secret smile. She looked like she belonged in a painting, the sunlight giving her this gentle golden halo as she stood under the trees. No wonder people were freaking out.
The whole Capital Med School forum had exploded.
[BunnyBun]: Ahhh! That face, that vibe, she's perfect! It has to be her!
[EnergyBall]: No way, is this photoshopped? How can anyone look this good? Someone tell me she's real!
[CoolGuy]: I need to know if she's real too. If not, OP should get banned!
[TeddyGram]: If she's real, I'd do anything for her, I swear!
[PreciousBoi]: We'll see her tomorrow at orientation. If this is fake, OP deserves a hundred years in detention!
[Peachy]: She's real, I swear! I saw
her at lunch today. In person she's
even prettier and her vibe is on
another level. I almost walked into a
tree staring at her. No kidding!
Meanwhile, back at the office, Connor was just about to dive into work when his
phone buzzed. It was his grandpa.
"Hey, Grandpa."
Grandpa Samuel sounded serious. "You little rascal. How can you even focus on work right now? You better not let those boys snatch your girl away."
