When Iceblade heard her, a hint of a smile tugged at his lips.

For a second, Daisy's heart skipped a beat. That smile was so mesmerizing it made her head spin.

Honestly, she'd just wanted to cozy up to the instructor, hoping it would make the brutal field training a little more bearable later on.

But really, her main goal was to get him on her side, so she could finally put Lydia in

her place.

Lydia. That spiteful bitch!

She's always throwing her weight around, acting like she owned the world just because she had powerful connections. She'd humiliated Daisy again and again, making her lose all dignity.

Lydia had even managed to get Daisy and her grandfather thrown out of the Medical Association. Daisy would never let that go.

She was determined to get payback during training. If Lydia got hurt out there, maybe even seriously enough to skip the opening ceremony, Daisy wouldn't have to stand in front of everyone and apologize to her. That would be perfect.

What she didn't expect was how distractingly good-looking Jay was. Seriously, unfairly handsome.

Not that she cared about some ordinary instructor.

"It's so hot out. I bought an extra bottle by accident. Why don't you take it?" Her voice was soft as she offered the water again.

This time, Jay took the bottle without hesitation, nodding politely. "Thank you. What's your name?"

Daisy's whole face brightened. "It's Daisy, sir."

Jay gave her a cool, almost unreadable nod. "Nice name. I'll remember it."

Her heart was pounding so hard she thought it might burst. She gave a quick nod and practically skipped away.

Jay watched her go, his dark eyes narrowing just a little.

Monica and Fiona were fuming.

"Ugh. She's so shameless. The instructor doesn't belong to just her," Monica grumbled, barely keeping her voice down.

Fiona balled her hands into fists. "Exactly. She has no shame. I really hope Jay isn't that shallow. If he act starts dating Daisy bes disappointed."

Everyone knew stories about instructors dating college girls. Jay was so good-looking that he'd already become a hot topic on his first day. Girls from other classes were even whispering about how the new instructor for Class 3 was ridiculously attractive.

Monica and Fiona weren't the only ones annoyed about Daisy giving him water and

flirting. The other girls around them were rolling their eyes too.

"She lost to Lydia just yesterday, and now she's already back to showing off. So fake."

At lunch, Lydia was sitting with Monica and Fiona when someone suddenly placed a

tray across from them.

She looked up, frowning.

Monica and Fiona both froze, barely believing what they were seeing. Was Jay seriously sitting at their table?

All around, other students stared in shock.

Lydia's voice was calm and flat. Yes.

Jay just chuckled. "I suppose you mean me then."
