Chapter 877

chapter877

Kevin looked them square in the eyes. "I'm not kidding."

Wells felt his whole body freeze up. He stared at Lydia, eyes wide, totally stunned. "Kevin... are you saying she's actually Miracle Hands? The Miracle Hands?"

Kevin nodded, calm as ever. "That's right. She is."

Richard just gaped, like he couldn't wrap his head around it. "No way. That can't be true. How could it be?"

In their minds, Miracle Hands must be some mysterious, silver-haired master. It was impossible to picture someone like Lydia a college freshman, still so young in that role. Miracle Hands had been famous for eight years. Lydia was only eighteen. Did that mean she'd started saving lives when she was just ten? The idea sounded like a joke. No one in their right mind would believe it.

Garrett was just as shocked. He stared at Lydia, struggling to find words. Lydia... was Miracle Hands? That news hit him like a bolt out of the blue. But when he thought about it, Lydia's medical skills were unbelievable, and she was insanely talented in so many other ways too. Maybe Lydia really was Miracle Hands. The thought made Garrett's hands tremble with excitement.

"Lydia... are you really Miracle Hands?" he asked, barely above a whisper.

Lydia gave a small, crooked smile and nodded. That's me."

Just those two words left Richard and the others frozen, unable to process what they'd just heard.

"This... this is impossible!" Richard finally blurted out.

Desmond, the oldest in the group and a respected figure in the medical world, looked like he might faint. He had idolized Miracle Hands for years. Now he was supposed to believe that Miracle Hands was an eighteen-year-old girl? It was almost too much. He felt like he needed something to steady his nerves.

Lydia just shrugged, completely unfazed. Kevin let out a short laugh. "I figured you wouldn't believe it. I took her as my apprentice when she was five By the time she was on she made a name for herself on her own. And by twelve, she was already better than me."

The others stared at him, like he'd just told them the moon was made of cheese.

Kevin, are you sure you didn't just make up Miracle Hands as a legend? How could a ten-year-old even be allowed in an operating room, let alone save someone's life?" Desmond's voice was full of disbelief.

Wells shook his head, still skeptical. "Yeah, Kevin, if this is real, then Lydia must be some kind of genius."

Kevin just smiled, looking almost smug. "She is a genius. These days, if I run into a tough problem, I have to ask her for help. You can doubt all you want, but it's the truth."

The first time Kevin realized how

talented Lydia was, he was in shock for days. He couldn't eat, couldn't

sleep, just kept replaying it in bet

mind.A five-year-old girl who could watch him do something once, read a textbook once, and remember everything then go even further picking up on the details he hadn't even mentioned. She was a prodigy, plain and simple. Kevin had never wanted another apprentice after her. No one else could compare.

But seeing that everyone was still skeptical, he finally pulled out something he'd brought along just in case.

"If

f you don't believe me, have a look at this yourselves. I promise you'll be convinced."
