chapter926
A few of the boys in the crowd got so worked up they could barely sit still. Some even rolled up their sleeves, itching to storm the stage and take Lydia on
themselves.
"Who does Lydia think she is? Did she grow up having confidence for breakfast?"
"I know, right? She's basically saying we're all blind and brainless."
"She's so cocky. What makes her think she's better than everyone else?"
"Oh my god, I'm about to lose it! How can someone act so full of themselves? Does she think she's some heiress who can just walk all over people?"
"She might be pretty, but she's got a nasty attitude. Total mean girl vibes."
The students in the audience were getting more and more frustrated. On stage, Daisy looked furious, like she could explode at any second.
Lydia, you... Daisy started, but stopped herself before she could start shouting.
Everyone out there was already trash-talking Lydia for her. If she lost her cool and started swearing on stage, wouldn't that just make her look bad?
So Daisy just scoffed. "Lydia, I think you're only acting tough because none of us know who the actual CAR-T research team members are. You're hiding behind that, aren't you?"
Rosie jumped in, her tone sharp and relentless. If you're really from the CAR-T team, who here can actually prove it for you?"
Daisy didn't miss a beat. "The CAR-T research members are all super secret. If you're so legit, why not show us some footage of you in the lab? Show us and we'll believe you."
"Yeah, Lydia, are you scared now? Lost your nerve?" Patricia added with a smug little laugh.
Lydia glanced at them, completely unfazed. "I just don't want to scare you."
"Heard that, everyone? Lydia's just
bluffing!" Daisy turned to the
audience and judges, her voice ringing out loud and clear. "She can't

Daisy looked so sure of herself as she glanced at the panel of judges.
Angelo leaned in to his microphone, staring Lydia down. "Lydia, if you can't prove
your claim, your actions will be considered academic dishonesty."
Daisy lifted her chin, looking like she'd already won.
Lydia was digging her own grave.
Daisy could already picture Lydia
kneeling in front of everyone, begging for forgiveness. After this Lydia, would have to leave the Capital for good. She never have to see her again. Just imagining that made Daisy's heart race with excitement.
Lydia turned a cold look on Angelo. "There's no way anyone would make the experimental footage from the CAR-T project public."
Angelo smiled. "If you can't show us any proof, Lydia, how do you expect us to believe you're really a member of the research team?"
Stellan spoke up too. "Exactly. You're
only eighteen. We've never heard of you in the medical world. People say
the CAR-T team's members are miles ahead of even us professors. Honestly Lydia, arent you just boasting?"
That's right, this is an academic competition, not a place to make stuff up. If you want to tell tall tales, do it at home. Don't make a scene here," Angelo said in a patronizing tone.
The students in the audience started murmuring, wondering how Lydia could stand there without showing a single emotion.
The judges had put it all on the table, but Lydia's face didn't change at all.
