chapter833
“Get in.” His voice, deep and commanding, issued the order.
Thalassa didn’t hesitate; she quickly climbed into the passenger seat, buckling her seat belt on her own
before he could do it for her..
She placed her hands on her lap, feeling a bit rigid.
Lysander started the car and drove off, his deep and penetrating eyes were focused on the road
ahead.
The car merged into the stream of traffic on the asphalt road.
“Got nothing to say?” His intimidating, deep voice echoed in the small cabin of the car, sending a cold
chill down her spine.
Thalassa stiffened; her mind started to race. She leaned back in her seat, turning her gaze out the
window, saying, “What should I say? About work? Mr. Ethan gave me so much to do today and I can
barely keep up.”
As she spoke, her hands, resting on her lap, clenched slightly; sweat broke out on her back due to
nerves.
Lysander didn’t realize that she had been to Starhaven College with Leopold, did he?
It wasn’t her idea, and even though they did go to Starhaven College, she only wanted to bid farewell to
the past.
She made it clear to Leopold that her four kids were her utmost priority. She hoped Leopold could
move on and stop clinging to the past.
She knew that there was no future for her and Leopold, and she never entertained the idea that there
could be.
Even if they moved on and led separate lives, she still wished Leopold happy; she also wished him to
have a family and live his own future.
After all, they had shared a past.
But Lysander wouldn’t understand her feelings. If he knew she had seen Leopold, he’d definitely get
angry; he’d punish her and take it out on Leopold,
So, she had a lucky hope that Lysander didn’t know about her meeting with Leopold today, even if Mr.
Ethan saw Leopold dropping her off at the office.
She was willing to gamble that Mr. Ethan wasn’t a gossip, that he wouldn’t be so nosy as to report this
minor incident to Lysander.
As soon as she finished speaking, the tension in the car became even more palpable, making her
shiver.
“Really, you’re probably thanking Ethan for giving you a chance to go on a field trip, aren’t you?”
Lysander’s voice got colder.
Thalassa’s heart shrieked as her mind became a whirlwind. As she tried to formulate a response,
Lysander’s hand snaked around her waist to hold her tightly.
Thalassa sat up straight and was frozen in place, watching as the car continued at the same speed
with Lysander holding the steering wheel with one hand.
His grip on her waist tightened, exuding a dominant and furious air.
The danger inside the car, coupled with the danger outside as they weaved through traffic, with
Lysander’s attention divided between her and the road, terrified Thalassa. A single misstep could
cause a crash, and the thought made her heart race and her hairs stand on end.
She pleaded quickly, “Lysander, calm down. You’re driving. What if that put us in danger?”
“Do you want me to do something really dangerous to you?” Lysander’s voice was low and dangerous,
full of menace.
Thalassa’s breath hitched. His mind seemed to differ greatly from hers.
He seemed to be preoccupied with those cheeky things despite the precarious situation.
Cold sweat trickled down Thalassa’s forehead as she thought of that.
“Lysander, if you have something to say, pull the car over first! If something happens to us, the kids will
become orphans. That’s too cruel.” As she watched the car swerve unpredictably, Thalassa’s hands
tightened on the seat belt.
