Thalassa was about to step forward when Evelyn stopped her.

Evelyn gently took Elowen’s wristwatch phone off her tiny wrist, saying in a soft voice, “Sweetheart,

let’s not call your dad for now. You can play here at Grandma’s for a bit, and your mom will take you

back to your dad’s soon.”

Elowen pouted her rosy little lips and tilted her head in confusion. “Why not?”

“Because if you call him, he might come over,” Evelyn explained.

“Isn’t that good?” asked Elowen.

“If your dad comes, he’ll take you away, and you won’t be able to play at Grandma’s for very long.”

Evelyn patiently explained to Elowen.

Ever since Lysander had taken the kids-away, Evelyn’s patience and love for them had intensified.

In the past, she had four kids to handle all by herself, which was always overwhelming. She was often

short on patience and high on frustration. Not only would she chastise Thalassa for having too many

kids, but she would also be gruff with the children. Now, she couldn’t bear to show any harshness

towards any of her four grandchildren. She couldn’t love them enough. “Oh, then I won’t call,” Elowen

finally agreed, letting go of the idea. She grabbed Evelyn’s hand and led her into the room. “Grandma,

can you teach me how to fold a paper boat? I want to be able to make one myself. That way, when my

paper boat sinks, I can just make a new one,” Elowen chatted as she walked with Evelyn.

“Of course, darling, I will teach you,” Evelyn finally smiled, speaking with indulgence.

“Grandma, I want to learn how to fold a paper fan!” Sophia’s little legs carried her running towards

them.

“Me too!” Dorian jumped off the sofa and ran towards the room.

Atticus, with his innocent and adorable eyes, looked at Thalassa, his gaze filled with longing and

concern for his mother.

Thalassa, seeing his desire to join his siblings in their play, smiled and lifted him off the sofa, saying,

“Go play.”

At the age of four or five, it was the perfect age for carefree play and fun. Thalassa wanted all her

children to be safe, healthy, and happy.

Being too mature only made her worry more.

“Okay, Mom, I’ll come back to keep you company in a bit,” Atticus nodded.

“Alright,” Thalassa replied gently.

Atticus turned and ran towards the room, joining the others in their origami play.

In her spare time over the past couple of days, Thalassa had been looking at rental properties online.

She hadn’t found anything suitable yet, so she decided to visit a real estate agency in a few days. They

would have more options to choose from.

On Wednesday, after work, Thalassa didn’t head to Royal Estates. Instead, she called Lysander.

“My mom’s lease is expiring, and I found her a new place to live. I want to take her to see it tonight, so I

won’t be able to come to Royal Estates,” she explained.

These days, Thalassa had been spending her nights at Royal Estates, balancing her time between the

kids and trying to win over Lysander. She was working to smooth over the animosity between them.

She had been too impulsive, telling Lysander outright that she wanted nothing more to do with him.

Now, she needed to invest more time in dispelling Lysander’s control over her.

In the past, Thalassa wouldn’t have informed Lysander if she wanted to accompany Evelyn. She’d just

go.

But this time, she had finally won the freedom to come and go from Royal Estates as she pleased. If

she continued to be stubborn, she could jeopardize even this small privilege.

So, she obediently called Lysander to ask for his permission.

“If you have something to do, then go take care of it,” Lysander’s voice came over the phone, betraying

no emotion.

“Alright, after finishing my things, I’ll head to Royal Estates tomorrow. If the kids ask for me, please let

them know,” Thalassa replied with a start, quickly promising to visit Royal Estates the next day.
