Chapter 1091

chapter1091

"You might not care about yourself, but think about the people working under you."

The day Stella Cameron signed the contract with Shawn Pearce, she didn't actually walk away with much of a loss.

Aicken had said it himself this deal was crucial for the company.

With that in mind, Stella stopped resisting.

"Thank you, Jonathan."

Jonathan Williams nodded. "Shawn wants to apologize to you in person. He's next door. Let me take you over."

Next door, Shawn had been waiting for quite a while.

As soon as Stella entered, he stood up from the couch.

"Ms. Cameron, you're here." He extended his hand, his tone sincere. "I wasn't myself last time, and I was terribly rude. I hope you'll forgive my behavior and not hold it against me."

Stella glanced at his outstretched hand but didn't take it.

Shawn noticed, but instead of looking awkward, he simply withdrew his hand with perfect composure.

Besides him, a sharply dressed female assistant stood quietly in the room.

Jonathan turned to Shawn. "Show her the revised contract."

Shawn glanced at his assistant. "Bring it over, let Ms. Cameron have a look-see if there's anything she's not satisfied with."

The assistant handed Stella the contract respectfully. "Ms. Cameron, please review it."

Stella took the contract and sat down on the couch, poring over it line by line.

She needed to double-check that Shawn hadn't slipped in any hidden changes this time.

These business contracts always ran long, and it would take a while to get through it all.

Jonathan didn't seem to mind the wait. He quietly sat nearby, sipping his tea.

Just then, Jonathan's phone rang.

A panicked voice came through the line.

"Sir, something's happened at the party!"

Jonathan's eyes sharpened. "What happened?"

Stella barely looked up, still focused on the paperwork. "Alright."

Jonathan glanced at Shawn, his voice cool. "If there's any disagreement, we'll settle it when I return."

Shawn quickly smiled. "Of course. Don't worry about a thing."

As soon as Jonathan left, Shawn shot a covert look at Stella, then at his assistant.

The assistant looked equally puzzled.

Their contact hadn't even arrived yet, so why had Jonathan left so soon?

Still, with Jonathan gone, the plan could proceed.

The assistant gave Shawn a subtle signal-everything was ready.

A sly, malicious smile curled on Shawn's lips.

This time, there was no way she'd get away.

As Stella flipped through the contract, something caught her

eye.

She frowned slightly. "Mr. Pearce,

this clause doesn't quite match the

Feigning ignorance, Shawn leaned in. "Oh? Which part? Let me see."

Stella handed him the contract, pointing to the section in question. "Right here."

Deliberately, Shawn leaned closer-so close that Stella could feel his breath against her cheek.

Her expression turned icy. "Mr. Pearce, what exactly do you think you're doing?"
