"I'm at the amusement park," Stella replied.

About twenty minutes later, Aicken called to say he had arrived.

"I need to go sign something at the entrance," Stella told Haynes and Foreman. "You two stay here with Keen."

"I'll go with you," Joshua offered.

"No, it's fine," Stella said, shaking her head. "You stay with Keen. It's only a ten- minute walk. I'll be right back."

She hurried off. Twenty minutes passed, and she still hadn't returned. Joshua's brow furrowed. "I'm going to check on Star."

After he left, Foreman turned to Keen and pointed at a nearby haunted house. "Keen, want to go check out the haunted house with me?"

Keen's eyes lit up. "Yes! If Mr. Joshua is afraid of ghosts, I can finally beat him at something!"

Haynes's face turned grim in an instant, his head snapping toward the haunted house. Screams erupted from inside, and people began pouring out, running in every direction.

Without a second thought, Haynes

charged toward the entrance to find

Foreman and Keen. Just as he

reached it Foreman stumbled out covered in blood.

"Haynes, it's bad!" he gasped, his face pale and frantic. "The Gibson family... they've kidnapped Keen!"
