chapter1371
It was true that Stella was good to the people around her, but her kindness toward Joshua seemed to go above and beyond, blurring the lines of friendship.
After chatting for a few minutes, Lauretta was called away. It was her family's gala, and with the engagement announcement looming, she was incredibly busy.
A short while later, Stella saw Mr. Burton arrive with Sellers, Aurora gliding gracefully by his side. Seeing Mr. Burton, Stella immediately went to greet him. "Mr. Burton, welcome."
Mr. Burton glanced at Joshua. "Looks like the boy's recovered well."
Joshua smiled. "It's all thanks to you, Mr. Burton, that I healed so quickly."
Sellers, standing beside Mr. Burton, let a flash of coldness cross his eyes, but he was disciplined enough to hide his hostility. He remained silent, showing no intention of greeting them.
It was Aurora who spoke up with a smile. "Ms. Cameron. Joshua."
Stella nodded politely, but Joshua raised an eyebrow in feigned surprise. "Oh? Ms. Williams, why are you with Mr. Burton tonight? Where's Leonard? I saw you two together quite often recently. Didn't he come with you?"
Joshua's attempt to stir trouble was hardly subtle, but it struck a nerve with Aurora, filling her with a stifled anger. To think he would try such a cheap trick in public, right in front of everyone.
Sellers sneered. "Who Aurora chooses to spend her time with is her own business. You, on the other hand, seem to be paying more attention to her than to your own affairs. Could it be... that you have a crush on her?"
Joshua laughed. "They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In your eyes, Mr.
So curton, does anyone who
so much as at Ms. Williams have a crush on her? She must be quite the charmer. Is there something extraordinary about her?"
He paused, feigning confusion. "I heard Ms. Williams was once a talented violinist, but her accomplishments don't seem to hold a candle to Stars Her painting. it's average, from what I've seen. Oh, and her race car driving... isn't she just at an amateur level? She can't even assemble her own Dawnlight. I suppose she can't be all that impressive, can she?"
It was a merciless verbal assault, enough to wipe the smile off anyone's face, no matter how composed. Aurora's eyes grew cold.
Mr. Burton cleared his throat. "Well... I'll leave you young people to your chat. I'm going to find Old Mr. Chapman. You all have fun." He turned and walked away without a second glance.
Stella was speechless.
Sellers's gaze turned icy, and he looked ready to retort, but Aurora gently pulled him back. She took a deep breath. "Sellers, let it go." Arguing with Joshua at a gala like this would only make them the laughingstock.
Sellers knew this. He clenched his fists, forcing himself to calm down. He shot Joshua a cold glare before striding away.
Watching Sellers's retreating back,
Joshua's eyes glinted. Sellers's

Leonard's, but he was far more
insidious. Leonard would attack his enemies head-on, but Sellers operated from the shadows. If it hadn't been for Sellers secretly recording that video it would have been nearly impossible to prove Leonard had harmed Stella. He was a man to be wary of.
