The Camerons had engineered this scene to make the guests jealous of Stella's good fortune, hoping to turn them against her and leave her defenseless. But their greed had created the very opening Joshua needed to turn their own motives against them.

In this initial clash with Stella, the Camerons had gained no real advantage. Despite coming out swinging with so much evidence, they had only managed to fight to a stalemate.

Leonard glanced at Sellers, who was standing quietly amongst the guests. The Camerons were incompetent allies, a fact Sellers was surely aware of. Given how insidious Sellers was, and how long he had planned this, it was unlikely this was his only move to take down Stella. This was just the beginning; Sellers had another card to play.

Lynne saw that she hadn't achieved her goal and was now the of suspicion herself. A flicker of panic crossed her eyes. The task of exposing Stella couldn't be done by old Mrs. Cameron or her father, Aherne. The Camerons had originally hoped to use Joshua, someone close to Stella, to make the accusation more credible. But after he had toyed with her, Lynne realized she couldn't manipulate him on such short notice. So, the thankless job had fallen to her. What she hadn't expected was Joshua's lightning-fast reaction, which had completely undermined her in the court of public opinion.

Lynne quickly changed tactics. "If you don't believe me, let's just do the DNA test right here! We've invited a testing agency from the Burton Group. Stella's relationship with Mr. Burton is so good, surely the results from a Burton Group agency can be trusted, right?!"

This time, Lynne went on the offensive, bringing up the Burton Group herself to prevent Joshua from using it against her. She
