Just as Aurora was about to say more, their car was suddenly hit from behind. At the same time, the side mirror shattered with a sharp crack as a bullet hit it.

Aurora's expression changed. "Leonard, what's happening?"

Leonard glanced at the license-plate-free car behind them, his face turning cold. Their intentions were clearly hostile.

"Hold on tight," he warned calmly.

Bullets pelted the car's body with sharp pings. Fortunately, the car Leonard was driving was a custom-made armored vehicle, so they were safe for the moment.

Even so, Aurora, who had rarely experienced such a scene, couldn't help but turn pale. But she was, after all, from a prominent family. Aside from her pale complexion, she didn't lose her composure.

Leonard swerved to evade their pursuers while dialing his assistant's number. "I'm under attack. Get backup here as fast as you can."

In the few seconds he was distracted, the car behind them quickly caught up and rammed them repeatedly. Their vehicle was thrown about, swerving wildly. Several other cars moved in, boxing them in from the sides.

Through the window, Aurora saw the people in the other cars.

She exclaimed softly, "Leonard, they're all foreigners!"

Leonard's eyes darkened. He already had a good idea who would dare to chase them down in Solmaris. "It's probably King Wright's men," he said grimly. "But they won't last long."

This was his territory, after all. Reinforcements would arrive soon.

Although he no longer had feelings for Aurora, he knew she was caught up in this because of him. "My men will be here in ten minutes, tops," he said.

Their attackers likely knew that a prolonged fight was not in their favor, and their assault grew even more intense. The men from the Wright family hadn't intended to use lethal force, but when they realized the car was armored and they couldn't grab their targets quickly, they decided to stop holding back and pulled out a rocket launcher.

This time, not just Aurora, but even Leonard's face turned grim. Once locked on,

their car stood no chance against such a heavy weapon.

Leonard made a split-second decision. He slammed on the brakes.

The vehicles behind them, not

expecting the sudden stop, all

crashed into Leonard's car. The man

who had been aiming the rock launcher lost his grip, and it tilted away.

The collision was brutal. Both Leonard and Aurora were injured, but it was far better than being targeted by a rocket launcher.

Leonard, in the driver's seat, had turned the wheel at the last moment to shield Aurora, taking the brunt of the impact himself.

Aurora suffered only minor scrapes and wasn't seriously hurt. Leonard, however, coughed up blood, clearly injured.

go."

Aurora hesitated. "Leonard, what about you?"

"The car's damaged, but it can still run," Leonard coughed. "I'll draw them away. You escape immediately."
