Chapter 1672

chapter1672

Thinking of Leonard, Abby suddenly looked at Stella.

"Star, the fact that Leonard is L... is that confirmed?"

At the mention of this, a shadow fell over Stella's face.

"Simone Lerman admitted it. There's no mistake."

"So, did you ask Leonard what he's up to?" Abby said.

"No. I blocked him immediately. There's nothing for us to talk about."

Abby was taken aback. "... You just blocked him like that?"

She had thought Stella would at least ask Leonard what he was trying to accomplish. She hadn't expected Stella to not even bother asking.

Abby hesitated before saying, "Star, do you think... maybe Leonard didn't know you were Summer?"

"Even if he didn't know at first, my identity as Summer was exposed when I started working with the Quinn family later on. He definitely found out then."

Abby probed, "Star, what do you think Leonard's motive was for hiding his identity to chat with you?"

Stella picked up her glass and took a sip of water, answering nonchalantly, "To gain my trust, only to backstab me?"

Abby was skeptical. "Does Leonard seem like that patient of a person? And... he adopted the little tabby..."

Abby didn't have a good impression of Leonard either. But she found it hard to reconcile him with L, the kind-hearted girl who had a pure love for painting. Even knowing they were the same person, it felt jarring.

"That little tabby is probably long dead by now," Stella said. "The photos Leonard sent us were probably just of some random tabby cat his men found."

Abby immediately refuted Stella's theory. "I don't think so. That tabby had a distinct patch of fur on its front paw, which makes it easy to identify. I paid special attention to its features because I was worried L was pretending to adopt it just to abuse it. It has to be the same cat, I'm sure of it."

"Maybe he kept the cat alive because he was afraid we'd get suspicious," Stella said.

Abby was about to say something else, but her gaze fell on the space behind Stella, and her expression froze.

The two were sitting opposite each

other, so Stella had her back to the

entrance and didn't know what!

happening

"Abby, what's wrong?" Stella asked softly.

Watching the approaching man, Abby whispered, "Star, Leonard is here."

Stella stiffened and instinctively turned her head.

A tall, stern man was striding in their direction. He looked furious, like he was on the warpath.

His path was clear; he was coming for them.

Stella's expression changed slightly. "Abby, you should go," she said in a low voice.

"But..." Abby looked at her with concern.

"With my current position in The Williams Group, he wouldn't dare do anything to me" Stella said quickly. "But if he loses his temper don't know if he'll take it out on you."

Abby knew Stella was right. If Leonard used her to get to Stella, it would only put

Stella at a disadvantage.

Abby got up and left.

As she walked past Leonard, her throat went dry, terrified that he might suddenly pull a gun on her. However, nothing happened

Imet

Leonard's gaze was locked firmly on Stelfa, he didn't even glance at Abby. It was as if she didn't exist.

It wasn't until she was out of the restaurant that Abby realized Leonard hadn't seen her at all.

Watching Leonard march straight toward Stella, a strange thought occurred to her.

Do enemies usually stare at each other like that, as if no one else in the world exists?

If she didn't know their history, Abby might have thought Leonard was going to meet the love of his life.
