Lucinda could feel her scalp prickling under that stare, and she shrank back without thinking. Nina's lips curled into a slight smile. She sounded casual, but every word hit its mark. Mr. and Mrs. Norwood, I actually came today to clear up a misunderstanding with Lucinda. Last night, Lucinda came to me, and she was really serious.
