Connor couldn't help feeling embarrassed, silently scolding himself for not going into medicine. If he had, maybe he could actually help her right now. Lydia must have felt his frustration, because she turned toward him and said, "You too. I need you with me, to be my eyes for a while."

No matter what, the issue with the clones had to come first. Hearing her words, Connor squeezed her hand. "Only if you don't mind having me around."

Kevin nodded. "Alright. You two take care of yourselves."

Lydia's plan was to settle things in the Capital, then head over to Rock Bay. For now, the only people left in the Capital were her grandfather and the Bland family. She wondered how Krista was doing. Maybe it was best to deal with her own family's problems before anything else.

Before they headed back to the Norwood estate, Lydia told Connor everything that had happened with the clones. He was floored. Something so huge had been going on, and he'd had no clue. Lydia had been carrying all of this by herself.

"So the next person who needs the injection is Mr. Norwood?" he asked. Lydia nodded. "Yeah."

She shared her plan with Blake too, and once he heard she was home from abroad, he said he'd be back that night.

Cameron and Kylie had been waiting anxiously for Lydia to return. Lydia didn't hide the truth about her blindness. Everyone, herself included, had to face it head-on. Maybe her sight could be restored someday, but that wouldn't happen right away, and the process would probably be long and difficult. She needed to get used to how things were now.

Cameron and Kylie were in total shock. To them, this was worse than any disaster. "Lydia... no... how could this be?" Kylie clapped a hand over her mouth, trying not to burst into tears. Cameron's face was grim. They had been so happy for Lydia, celebrating her big win abroad, even planning a party for her. No one expected news like this to come crashing down at the same time.

Why did this have to happen? Lydia was kind, talented, someone who deserved the world. Why did this happen to her?

Lydia just tried to smile, reaching out to comfort them. "Maybe it's fate's way of telling me to take a break for once."

Cameron and Kylie had always wished Lydia would slow down and rest, but not like this. Never like this.

Just then, Mr. Norwood's voice rang out. "What happened? Lydia can't see?"

Even though Lydia couldn't see him,

she could picture how thrilled the

fake Mr. Norwood must be right

now Kylle eyes red and swollen

shot a look and turned

her face away. She just couldn't

keep pretending for the clone's sake anymore.

Cameron forced himself to answer. "Lydia's eyes... she was hurt..."

Mr. Norwood put on a show of concern, watching Lydia closely. "Then take her to the hospital, get, her doctor. The best one. There's gotta be someone who can fix this."

Lydia just couldn't bother with him. Connor, now fully aware the man in front of them was a fake, stared back blankly.

Mr. Norwood looked around,

Kylie's voice trembled. "Lydia is the best doctor there is. If there was any way to fix

it, do you really think she'd still be like this?"
