Chapter 688

chapter688

Hadley's heart broke for her daughter, but she could tell from Wally's tone that the

girl standing in front of them wasn't someone the Rivers family could afford to cross. Daisy, listen to your father. Just say you're sorry and this will all be over. Her eyes welled up as she looked at Daisy's swollen cheek.

Daisy looked like she was about to lose it. She jabbed her finger at Lydia. "Mom, has Dad lost it? Have you? You want me to apologize to her? She doesn't deserve it!"

Before she could react, Wally's palm landed hard on her other cheek. "Are you trying to ruin the Rivers family? I'm asking you to apologize, not to give up your life. Now get on your knees!" He grabbed Daisy and forced her down in front of Lydia.

Daisy was too stunned to fight back. She just couldn't understand. Lydia was just a poor student from some small town. Why should she, someone from a respected family, have to kneel and apologize to her?

"You can hit me all you want. I'll never apologize to her!" Daisy shouted, struggling as Wally pinned her down.

Wally was practically shaking with rage. At first, he'd only slapped Daisy for show, hoping to appease Lydia and the school officials, but now he was seriously furious. "Daisy, I raised you for eighteen years! Now you've made a mistake and dragged the whole Rivers family down with you, and you still refuse to apologize? Fine, maybe I should just beat some sense into you! His eyes darted around the room. He grabbed a chair and lifted it, ready to swing it at Daisy.

Daisy let out a terrified scream and covered her head.

Wally, stop! Hadley rushed over and yanked the chair out of his hands, sobbing. "Are you actually trying to kill her?"

"This is your fault. You spoiled her so much she can't handle even the tiniest bit of trouble, and now she's dragging all of us down! If she doesn't fix this, my father is going to break my legs when we get home. Maybe it'd be easier if I just finished it now!" Wally's voice shook with anger.

Even though Daisy was his favorite child, right now, her future meant nothing compared to the fate of the Rivers family.

Hadley wiped her tears and knelt next to Daisy, her voice trembling. "Daisy, you and your grandfather have already been kicked out of the International Medical Association. you don't apologize, our family won't survive another day in the Capital. Do you understand?"

If

Daisy just stared at Lydia, totally lost and in disbelief. Lydia's face was cold and distant, like none of this had anything to do with her.

Hadley knew her daughter couldn't process what was happening. But for the medical association to move this quickly, the person behind Lydia had to be someone way out of their league.

"Daisy, we can't afford to mess with whoever is behind her. For the sake

of the Rivers family, I'm beggin

you.

Please." Hadley's voice was barely above a whisper, choked with tears

Daisy broke down, tears streaming down her face. For the first time in her life, she felt completely humiliated and powerless.

In the end, Daisy had no choice but to kneel and apologize to Lydia, promising she'd

read a formal apology in front of the whole school at the opening ceremony.

Wally and Hadley had stormed in full of confidence, but they left defeated and ashamed Because of them even Mr. Rivers had been kicked ou of the medical association. The embarrassment was overwhelming.

After everything that happened with Lydia, Monica, and Fiona, Daisy couldn't stay in

the dorm anymore. She asked to move off campus, and Wally and Hadley took her away.

Finally, the storm was over. Everyone let out a sigh of relief.
