chapter990
Lydia gave a cold, mocking smile. "Pretty sure the sharks would go for someone like you."
Falcon eyed Lydia up and down, grinning in a way that made her skin crawl. "Hey, sweetheart. You Connor's girl, right? Take it from me. He's not gonna last much longer. But if you ditch him for me, maybe I'll be nice and let you stay out of the shark tank. What do you say?" He let out a laugh that echoed around them.
Bang!
Connor didn't hesitate. He fired a shot right at Falcon. If Falcon hadn't jumped back in time, he'd be lying on the ground with a bullet through his skull.
"Connor! Are you for real? You want to play hardball with me? Don't you care about saving your friend?" Falcon was pale now, jaw clenched tight. His glare shot daggers at Connor.
If he could, he'd make Connor get on his knees and beg right now.
Connor's voice was ice. "If you can't keep that mouth shut, you'll never speak again."
If Luke was already safe, Falcon wouldn't still be standing.
Falcon was shaken. Connor's aim was unreal. Three years ago, everyone said Connor was done for, barely clinging to life. Guess the rumors were way off. He was just as dangerous as ever.
Lydia stepped forward. "Where is he? Where's the person we came for?"
Falcon just smirked, backing away as he waved his hands.
In seconds, dozens of guys in black suits closed in, guns raised, blocking Lydia and Connor.
"Going to hide behind your men now?" Lydia raised a brow, unimpressed.
Bill barked, "Drop your weapons if you want that boy to live!"
None of Lydia's team moved.
Bill clapped, and two men dragged out a bloodied, unconscious boy.
That face was unmistakable. It was Luke!
Bill gave a cold laugh. "What's this? Is this your rescue attempt?"
Falcon sauntered over to Luke and lifted his head so Lydia could see him clearly.
"Take a good look. Is this who you want? Someone's got their eye on his kidney. Lucky for him you called me, or he'd already be on an operating table. If you want m back, you'll have to pay up. Double what I lost."
He started laughing again, wild and cruel.
Connor and Lydia looked furious, and Falcon loved it. Nothing made him happier than seeing his enemies squirm.
Lydia's grip tightened on her rifle, her knuckles white. Then, with a sharp motion, she dropped her weapon to the ground.
Connor, Sweet Potato, and the rest of the team followed, tossing down their guns one after another.
Falcon's laughter grew louder, his voice ringing out over the water, making everyone's skin crawl.
But before anyone could react, Connor leapt off the helipad. Everything exploded into motion at once.
He moved like a flash, heading straight for Falcon. Take out the leader, and the rest would fall. That was the plan.
Lydia's eyes locked onto Luke.
The rest of the team jumped into action, covering both Connor and Lydia, their moves perfectly timed.
Falcon realized what they were doing and started yelling, panic in his vo"Shoot them Open fire!!
want them filled with holes Feed them all to the sharks!"
Lydia's squad wore the best bulletproof vests money could buy, and they were pros. Even with bullets flying everywhere, they
dodged and fired back without missing a beat.
Lydia shot with both hands, gunfire echoing over the waves. She was fierce and unstoppable.
Connor was legendary, the kind of soldier people whispered about. Every shot he took found its mark.
Falcon watched his men drop one after another, and pure fear finally hit him. "Stop! Stop now, or I'll shoot him! I swear I will!"
